Job summary

MariaDB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build cloud infrastructure for MariaDB Cloud, focusing on multi-cloud orchestration, IaC, and scalable services. You will own features end-to-end, writing robust code in Go/Python, and collaborating across teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in distributed systems, experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and REST/gRPC APIs, and a passion for open database technologies. Remote US availability is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in data-intensive, distributed systems or enterprise software.
• End-to-end ownership of non-trivial production features from design through production.
• Hands-on production experience on multi-cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience building REST and/or gRPC APIs used by external consumers.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure and application layers for MariaDB Cloud.
• Lead features from whiteboard to production across multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate on API design and integration for external systems.
• Ensure security, reliability, and governance of deployments.
