Job summary

Komodo Health seeks a senior Infrastructure/Platform engineer to own the cloud infrastructure and shared services. You will design, build, and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as code, driving AI-assisted patterns and secure, compliant practices across a rapidly evolving healthcare data environment.

You will lead modernization, mentor the team, and help set on-call and incident response standards, while balancing reliability, cost, and developer experience in a hybrid US-wide setup.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering with hands-on AWS experience.
• IaC using Terraform as default working mode.
• Kubernetes platform ownership and operational responsibility.
• Track record of taking ownership of ambiguous, inherited, or under-documented systems.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools and safe usage practices.
• Security/compliance fluency in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC2).
• Ability to influence and create leverage through standards and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and modernization roadmap for cloud infrastructure and shared services.
• Design, build, and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as code (Terraform) via GitOps (ArgoCD) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Set standards for AI-assisted infrastructure work and raise team fluency.
• Harden security and compliance posture with least-privilege IAM, RBAC, and secrets hygiene.
• Drive infrastructure optimization balancing reliability, scalability, developer experience, and cost.
• Mentor the team through design reviews, documentation, and enablement.
• Participate in and improve the on-call rotation, incident response, and runbooks.
