Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a Senior Cloud and Hybrid Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure networking across DoD cloud and classified on‑prem environments. The role bridges heritage VM architectures with cloud‑native deployments and Kubernetes clusters.

You will work under strict security, requiring an active SECRET clearance, in a hybrid on‑site setting with 4 days in the office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-time professional experience.
• Experience configuring networking in major cloud providers (Azure preferred) for government/classified regions.
• Deep understanding of virtual networking (VNETs, VPCs), VPNs, BGP/OSPF, and IPv6.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking concepts (CNI, LoadBalancers, Network Policies).
• Experience integrating legacy VMs with cloud deployments and modern containers.

Responsibilities

• Secure Cloud Networking: architect and implement secure, compliant connections across secure and classified cloud enclaves (IL-5/IL-6).
• On-Premise & Hybrid Connectivity: mirror cloud environments and connect on-prem to cloud providers.
• Hybrid VM Infrastructure: manage networks between legacy VMs and cloud VM deployments.
• Kubernetes Integration: configure routing, ingress/egress, and service mesh for clusters.
• Cross-Domain Security: support cross-domain solutions for data flow between unclassified, CUI and classified.
• System Modernization: collaborate to move tactical systems to microservices and cloud-native deployments.
