Job summary

Smile Digital Health in the United States is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain cloud-hosted services powering our SaaS platform.

You will own deployment artifacts (Helm charts, Docker, IaC), and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, security, reliability, and multi-cloud strategies.

Collaborate with platform, infrastructure and security teams to deliver scalable, secure deployments on AWS and Azure using Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform and serverless components.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud development or infra engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing and building SaaS multi-cloud solutions.
• Hands-on with DevOps tooling (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Familiar with public cloud SDKs for AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Strong APIs in Python/JS/TypeScript and Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain cloud-native APIs using Python/Go/TypeScript.
• Build and manage Docker images; ensure secure, cost-efficient deployments.
• Author and version Helm charts for Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
• Monitor performance and scale with caching and auto-scaling.
• Develop serverless components using AWS CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate.
• Ensure high availability with readiness/liveness probes and proper resource limits.
• Enhance pipelines with automated testing, versioning and docs publishing.
• Manage in-cluster dependencies like PostgreSQL, Kafka, Grafana, Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate on security, logging, monitoring, and auditing requirements.
• Troubleshoot production/staging issues and provide RCAs.
