Job summary

Smile Digital Health is seeking an Azure Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate production AKS clusters with private configurations, RBAC, and strong networking. You will own the platform from CI/CD pipelines to performance tuning and incident response, collaborating with application, security, and platform teams.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, and proficiency with Terraform, Helm, and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes internals: scheduling, networking, storage, RBAC.
• Proficiency in Azure CNI networking and AKS private cluster configuration.
• Hands-on experience with Azure PaaS services (ACR, AKV/Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL, Kafka) and troubleshooting DNS/firewall/private endpoints.
• Experience with Helm and Terraform for IaC; CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, Flux/ArgoCD).
• Vulnerability management and incident response coordination across teams.
• Bash and Python scripting; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for Kubernetes deployments, troubleshooting, and production issues across environments.
• Design and deploy AKS clusters with private configurations and RBAC.
• Own health, scaling and lifecycle management of production AKS clusters; manage upgrades and node pools.
• Configure AKS networking, internal load balancers, and ingress controllers (NGINX/Traefik).
• Maintain integrations between AKS and Azure services (ACR, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Azure SQL).
• Manage container deployments with Docker and Helm; enforce chart standards and quotas.
• Hardene AKS through policies and image scanning; manage vulnerability remediation.
