Job summary

Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Information Technology team in Boone, NC. You will architect, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud platforms to support ministry workloads and deploy through CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll mentor engineers, lead incident response, and partner with cybersecurity to ensure governance and secure access. Fluent English required and Biblical studies credit hours completed or in progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus seven+ years of Cloud Engineering experience.
• Kubernetes and Linux administration at scale.
• Experience with virtualization/storage technologies (VMware, oVirt, Hyper-V).
• Automation, scripting, observability, and security tooling including AI tooling support.
• 12 Biblical Studies credit hours required; opportunity to meet requirement on hire.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and optimize secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services for ministry workloads.
• Automate provisioning and delivery using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and modern tooling.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering excellence across the Cloud Eng team.
• Lead monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity/compliance on cloud governance and access control.
