Job summary

SAIC is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will build secure, reliable solutions that support our mission-critical applications and business goals.

Key duties include IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines; and monitoring, security, and cost optimization across multi-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (4 years experience in lieu of degree).
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms: AWS | Azure | GCP.
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of database services (RDS, DynamoDB, Cloud SQL).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop and implement cloud architecture strategies aligned with business goals.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Monitor cloud systems for performance, availability, and security.
• Manage cloud costs and optimize resource utilization.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
• Maintain documentation for cloud architecture and processes.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services.
