Job summary

Semper Valens Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer in San Antonio, TX, to design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures spanning AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. You will optimize virtualization platforms, implement IaC, and support secured DevSecOps practices within a DoD IT enterprise.

The role requires 8+ years of experience (or 6+ with a Master’s), DoD-8570 IAT Level 2, and an active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Advanced cloud certification (AWS/Azure/GCP) required.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Hands-on IaC experience using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage virtual cloud infrastructures across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
• Ensure integration of multiple Cloud teams, processes, and instances to meet a holistic solution.
• Maintain virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native solutions.
• Automate deployments and configurations using IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Provision, maintain, and scale cloud resources in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor cloud resource utilization for cost efficiency and scalability.
• Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure infrastructure meets security/compliance within a DevSecOps framework.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate infrastructure automation into the dev lifecycle.
• Implement and manage Docker and Kubernetes for microservices architectures.
