Job summary

Leidos in Omaha, NE is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and scale hybrid cloud infrastructure for Air Force programs. You will work with Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS), IaC tooling, and DevSecOps practices to deliver secure, scalable solutions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement containers with Docker and Kubernetes, support CI/CD, monitor resources for cost and performance, and contribute to RMF/NIST

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI prior to start date.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience; additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or equivalents from other providers.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack).
• Proficiency in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes; monitoring and incident management.
• Knowledge of IAM, network security, and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructure across Azure (IaaS & PaaS).
• Automate deployments with IaC and configuration-as-code tools.
• Provision and scale cloud resources in Azure; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor utilization for cost efficiency and scalability.
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure security/compliance within DevSecOps framework.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate infrastructure automation.
• Implement containerization/orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure monitoring tools and ensure high availability.
• Identify optimizations to improve uptime and latency.
• Apply IAM, network segmentation, and encryption best practices.
• Assist in audits (RMF, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Provide Tier-2/3 support and document procedures.
