Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Sr DevSec Engineer for Cloud Operations to own the design, build, and operation of secure, highly available SaaS infrastructure on GCP. You will work across Engineering, Product, IT, and Services to deliver scalable, automated solutions and ensure rapid incident response.

The role requires deep GCP expertise, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD with GitOps, and strong security posture across global production environments.

Qualifications

7+ years of 24x7 production operations supporting a highly available SaaS or cloud service.
Proactive adherence to information security and compliance standards (SOC2 Type 2, ISO-27001, NIST 800-53).
Hands-on GCP expertise including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and IAM, with cloud monitoring/logging.
Experience with VPC design, interconnect/VPN, load balancing, DNS, firewall policies, and multi-region networking.
Containerization and image management with Docker; knowledge of container security best practices.
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD); GitOps experience a plus.
Experience with Java/J2EE stack; scripting (Python/Bash/Go); IaC tools (Terraform).
Comfort using AI/LLM tools for scripting, troubleshooting, and automation; strong documentation habit.
Strong networking knowledge (DNS, TLS, load balancing, service mesh) and troubleshooting.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to influence engineers without direct reports.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain resilient, secure, highly available infrastructure on GCP for SaaS/Hosted services.
Design and manage secure, scalable GCP network architecture (VPC, peering, shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect/VPN, DNS).
Automate deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident response using CI/CD and GitOps.
Monitor site stability with GCP observability tools and troubleshoot across the stack.
Scale infrastructure to meet demand using GCP autoscaling and cost optimization.
Own end-to-end operational responsibility for all customer-facing environments (availability, performance, change management).
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Services, and other departments.
Work with developers to deploy features via containerized, Kubernetes-native patterns.
Develop/runbooks and procedures; leverage AI/LLM for automation and documentation.
Meet security/compliance standards such as ISO, SOC2, SSAE 16.
