Job summary

Arena Club is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in San Francisco to design, build, and operate the infrastructure and tooling that support our platform. You will own cloud delivery, security, and reliability, driving automation and efficiency across the stack.

You will lead CI/CD workflows, manage Kubernetes at scale, and develop IaC in Terraform within AWS. Collaboration with engineering teams is essential to improve deployment speed and platform resilience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure-focused roles.
• Strong experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure in AWS.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions in production systems.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and system reliability principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for web and backend apps.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for high availability and scalability.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform in AWS.
• Design secure, scalable cloud architecture leveraging AWS services.
• Develop automation scripts and internal tooling to reduce manual work.
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response with DataDog and CloudWatch.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and implement reliability improvements.
• Drive proactive remediation for infrastructure risks and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows and observability.
• Promote DevOps practices and operational ownership across the engineering team.
• Document architecture, procedures, and dependencies for team continuity.
