Thorndale Partners is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with Public Cloud and DevOps experience to join a team delivering complex cloud-based projects. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and security in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The position requires residing in or relocating to the Nashville, TN region. The team embraces agile methods, ongoing learning, and significant bonus opportunities along with an extensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in systems, infra, cloud, or platform engineering.
• 2+ years with public cloud and infra automation.
• Proficient with Python, PowerShell, Bash for automation.
• Git proficient: branching, PR reviews, repo/workflow mgmt.
• Experience with CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GH Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Kubernetes experience: Helm, AKS/GKE, Traefik, image registries.
• Hands-on with public cloud: Azure and Google Cloud.
• Strong fault-finding and debugging in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots infrastructure performance and resolves tickets.
• Lead or participate in projects to deploy new tech.
• Designs and tests infrastructure components and management tools.
• Maintains systems for availability, capacity, efficiency and performance.
• Implements security, backup and logging strategies.
• Creates scripts to automate tasks and reduce manual work.
• Documents configurations, runbooks and admin procedures.
• Produces designs with cost estimates and timelines.
• Sets goals and milestones for projects and drives delivery.
• Builds CI/CD pipelines using GitOps for deployments and drift detection.
• Operates and upgrades managed Kubernetes platforms and autoscaling.
• Owns vulnerability remediation and patching for platforms.
• Designs and maintains HAProxy Enterprise load balancers, TLS, routing.
• Ensures high availability of load balancing tiers and zero-downtime upgrades.
• Onboards applications to load balancing and implements traffic management.
