Job summary

Bounteous is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to own production SQL Server environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL. You will optimize T-SQL, review queries, and align with the architecture team to ensure reliable production operations.

The role requires 5+ years of DBA experience with SQL Server and cloud databases, plus expertise in execution plans, indexing, EF SQL patterns, and AI-assisted automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience with SQL Server.
• Proficiency with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Experience with cloud-hosted relational databases, including AWS MySQL.

Responsibilities

• Administer production SQL Server environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL.
• Author, review, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, DML statements, and schema changes.
• Perform query performance tuning via execution plans, indexing strategies, statistics management, and operator-level diagnostics.
• Collaborate with the lead architect to evaluate decisions impacting production environments.
• Develop and maintain understanding of production schemas, data flows, and system architecture.
• Support Entity Framework applications by analyzing generated SQL and suggesting optimizations.
• Leverage AI tooling to enhance database operations, monitoring, and automation.
