Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a distributed big data engineer to architect and deploy resilient, large-scale data solutions across Cassandra, Kafka, and OpenSearch in hybrid AWS and private cloud environments.

You will automate cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes, optimize high-throughput systems, and strengthen reliability with backups, patching, and incident management. Join a global team of engineers driving data access patterns and cloud migration strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years hands-on experience with distributed databases (CassandraDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure at scale.
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI; Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) and Python.
• Experience supporting live production SaaS systems.
• Experience leading technical projects with estimation, milestones, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities
