Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to build and operate large-scale data pipelines that convert telemetry from 25M+ devices into reliable data products.

You will implement scalable, high-throughput systems within Kubernetes, ensuring availability and performance across the network platform. You’ll drive observability with ELK and Grafana and collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliver secure, validated, and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience building, operating, or debugging distributed systems processing at least 1TB of telemetry daily.
• Programming in Scala, C++, or Java in production.
• Designing data pipelines with streaming or batch frameworks like Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
• Deploying containerized workloads on Kubernetes in production.
• Automation/monitoring with Terraform, Ansible, Elasticsearch, or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operate scalable data pipelines ingesting petabyte-scale telemetry from 25M+ devices.
• Engineer resilient distributed systems within Kubernetes for high availability.
• Establish observability standards using ELK and Grafana and ensure design excellence.
