Job summary

Technologent in Phoenix, AZ seeks a seasoned Cassandra DBA/Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise Cassandra clusters. You will partner with development, infra, and ops teams to deliver scalable data platforms with high availability and low latency.

Responsibilities include cluster design, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and automation using tools like Ansible and scripting. Strong knowledge of JVM tuning and multi-DC deployments is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Cassandra database engineering or administration.
• Strong knowledge of Cassandra architecture, replication, consistency levels, partitioning, data modeling, token distribution, and multi-DC deployments.
• Experience designing and managing highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant Cassandra clusters.
• Experience with cluster design, capacity planning, and upgrades.
• Experience with backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong JVM heap, GC, memory, CPU, and OS tuning knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise Cassandra clusters with high availability.
• Tuning read/write performance, latency, and throughput.
• Manage cluster lifecycle: upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansion.
• Implement backup/restore strategies and DR testing.
• Automate admin tasks using Ansible and scripting.
• Collaborate with dev, infra, and security teams.
