Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the US Coast Guard. You will lead end-to-end deployment, integrate data ingestion, and ensure compliance with federal standards in a fully remote role.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT II certification, strong Linux, Java/Python skills, and experience with Confluent and Kafka. You will work across implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle sustainment to modernize data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification in good standing.
• Advanced programming in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux programming and system administration background.
• Experience with Confluent platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete PUMP RBAC process for privileged access.
• Expertise in configuration management and system architecture concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end CDP deployment within USCG cloud environments.
• Implement robust data ingestion and sharing between systems.
• Ensure CDP activities comply with USCG standards.
• Plan and execute maintenance to keep CDP uptime.
• Oversee long-term sustainment and modernization of the CDP.
