Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to lead software configuration management and release engineering across VA projects. This role involves building and automating CM tools, coordinating CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior staff in CM best practices.

Remote-based, US-only. Requires strong background in Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and experience with regulated federal environments. Candidate must possess a Public Trust (MBI) clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• A proven track record of leading and delivering complex software builds and releases.
• Experience in regulated enterprises or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Knowledge across development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Source control experience: Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions; artifact repos: Nexus, Artifactory.
• Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, Python; infrastructure as code: Ansible, Terraform.
• Issue tracing and resolution for build failures; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks to document and standardize parameters.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools for modeling and development.
• Create build procedures to support product development and use.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality practices.
