Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Configuration Analyst to support VA-related software projects from a 100% US-based remote position. You will lead CM and release engineering, migrate applications to the cloud, and mentor junior staff across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and delivering complex software builds across multiple environments.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in CM and release engineering.
• Knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices and source control.
• CI/CD tools experience and artifact repositories.
• Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Proficiency with work management and documentation tools.
• Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS.
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring documentation and compliant builds.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train software developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
