Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Competitive Intelligence Engineer to combine technical marketing with competitive analysis. You will manage cloud environments, run benchmarks, and deliver data-driven insights to influence architecture and go-to-market strategies.

You will collaborate with architects, product managers, engineers, and solution engineers, producing technical content for Sales and Presales and reviewing marketing differentiation claims for accuracy and credibility.

Qualifications

• 12 years of technical experience in cloud engineering, solutions architecture, DevOps, technical marketing, or presales within enterprise technology.
• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent required; demonstrated track record in competitive intelligence or related field is a plus.
• Experience provisioning cloud infrastructure, benchmarking, and presenting data-driven insights for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations of cloud and AI platforms, provision infrastructure, deploy workloads, and document results reproducibly.
• Develop and manage a benchmarking framework for AI inference workloads with KPIs for provider comparisons (e.g., Llama, Mistral).
• Assess competitor architectures, APIs, networking, storage, GPU availability, orchestration tools, and developer experience with verified performance data.
• Produce battle cards and technical guides grounded in verified data for Sales and Presales.
• Collaborate with Product Management to analyze cloud products and recommend roadmap items addressing customer challenges.
