Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Competitive Intelligence Engineer to drive technical benchmarking and competitive analysis across cloud and AI platforms.

You will organize data-driven insights and collaborate with architects, product managers, engineers, and solution engineers to influence architecture and GTM strategies. Responsibilities include deploying workloads, benchmarking AI inference, and producing technical content for Sales and Presales.

Qualifications

• 12 years of technical experience in cloud engineering, solutions architecture, DevOps, technical marketing, or presales within enterprise technology.
• Ability to provision cloud resources, configure networking, deploy containers and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Experience operating AI/ML inference workflows and deploying model endpoints.
• Ability to design reproducible tests and present data-driven performance insights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations of cloud and AI platforms; provision infrastructure and document results.
• Develop and manage a benchmarking framework for AI inference workloads with KPIs.
• Assess competitor architectures, APIs, networking, storage, and orchestration tools.
• Produce battle cards and technical guides grounded in verified data for Sales and Presales.
• Collaborate with Product Management to analyze cloud products and suggest roadmap items.
• Review differentiation claims in marketing materials and sales decks for accuracy.
