Job summary

Akamai Technologies seeks a Senior Competitive Intelligence Engineer to blend technical marketing with hands-on cloud benchmarking, shaping architecture and go-to-market strategy.

You will evaluate cloud and AI platforms, deploy workloads, benchmark AI inference, and deliver data-driven insights for Sales, Product Management, and Engineers, ensuring credible differentiation across the business.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in cloud engineering, solutions architecture, DevOps, technical marketing, or presales within enterprise tech.
• Experience provisioning cloud resources, configuring networking, deploying containers, and troubleshooting performance.
• Experience running AI/ML inference workflows, deploying model endpoints, and understanding cost models.

Responsibilities

• Conducting technical evaluations of cloud and AI platforms, provisioning infrastructure, deploying workloads, measuring performance, and documenting results.
• Developing and managing a benchmarking framework for AI inference workloads with standardized tests and KPIs.
• Assessing competitor architectures, APIs, networking, storage, GPU availability, and orchestration tools while documenting product performance.
• Producing battle cards, technical comparison guides, and content for Sales and Presales grounded in verified data.
• Collaborating with Product Management to analyze cloud products, provide actionable insights, and suggest roadmap items.
• Reviewing and fact-checking differentiation claims in marketing materials and decks.
