Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sr. Cloud BI Developer to lead enterprise reporting, building Sigma and Tableau dashboards for internal and external clients. You’ll translate business needs into robust BI solutions and mentor teams on best practices.

In the role you’ll manage Tableau administration, ensure data security and compliance, and collaborate with data modelers and analysts to meet project goals. Onsite in Bridgeport/Stamford 3 days a week, with some remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Sigma/Tableau certifications.
• 5+ years Tableau development, web APIs, and administration experience.
• Minimum Tableau Certified Professional in good standing.
• 1+ year Sigma Computing development experience.
• 5+ years relational databases experience (Snowflake preferred).
• Strong SQL coding experience (5+ years).
• Strong data modeling skills (2+ years).
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems independently.
• Ability to communicate standards and train report developers.
• Work with report developers, data modelers and business analysts to ensure BI infrastructure meets design and delivery needs.
• Provide BI help desk support (1st & 2nd line) including on-call troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze information requirements from business users; translate into use cases and design of Enterprise Reporting applications.
• Develop Sigma/Tableau dashboards, visualizations and reports for complex problems.
• Mentor business and Analytics teams on Sigma/Tableau best practices.
• Ensure standards and best practices for Tableau/Sigma across the company; ensure data security and compliance.
• Assist Enterprise Reporting team in Tableau administration: user provisioning, server management, license administration, and upgrades.
• Other duties as needed.
