Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior Cloud Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate high-throughput backend systems ingesting telematics data from connected fleets. You will own scalable data pipelines, APIs and cloud-native services on GCP, with emphasis on reliability and low latency for enterprise customers.

You will collaborate across data engineering, API development, and ML-enabled workflows, applying best practices in distributed systems, data modeling, and security.

Qualifications

• Senior-level engineering experience.
• 7+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years software development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin/Java/Python or equivalent JVM/backend languages.
• Experience in API design and backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable backend services and APIs to process telematics data.
• Build real-time and batch data pipelines using Pub/Sub and Kafka.
• Transform data for data warehouses and analytics.
• Design cloud-native solutions on GCP using distributed data-processing tech.
• Develop RESTful and/or gRPC APIs for backend services.
• Support data warehouse architectures and analytics models.
• Integrate AI/ML models and rule-based systems where applicable.
