Job summary

Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation is seeking a senior Cloud Network Architecture SME to lead design, integration, and optimization of multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures for a Space Systems Command program.

You will serve as a principal technical advisor, guiding secure, scalable solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with TS/SCI eligibility and onsite work in Colorado Springs, CO. The role begins upon contract award, with travel up to 10% and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering or cloud architecture.
• Design and implement enterprise network architectures across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Experience with VPCs, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
• Strong communication with executives and stakeholders; TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical advisor to Government leadership on cloud and network architecture initiatives.
• Design and develop highly complex multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises network architectures.
• Support the development of resilient enterprise architectures across multiple CSPs.
• Analyze current and future network requirements and recommend scalable architectures.
• Lead architecture assessments, engineering reviews, and technology evaluations.
• Develop technical documentation and implementation plans; mentor engineering teams.
• Present technical findings and architectural recommendations to senior leadership.
