Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions for USSTRATCOM. You will define architecture, ensure compliance with federal standards, and guide modernization efforts while coordinating with stakeholders across military and government teams.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of hybrid cloud models, major platforms (AWS/Azure), and secure design principles to support mission-critical IT services.

Qualifications

• BS degree; may be substituted for additional years of experience.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture or related field.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
• ITIL 4 Foundation within 9 months; 8140 certification.
• Location: Offutt AFB, NE.
• Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of federal frameworks: FISMA, FedRAMP, RMF, ATO.

Responsibilities

• Develop and define the overall cloud architecture for USSTRATCOM needs.
• Integrate application, server, network security and gov requirements (FISMA, FedRAMP, ATO).
• Participate in product evaluation and selection processes.
• Provide architecture expertise for transition to Cloud hosting.
• Research market trends and best practices to guide architectural decisions.
• Identify and close gaps in initial solutions, designs, and messaging.
