Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Architect to lead cloud data services design and implementation. You will guide architecture direction, coach engineers, and align with product and SRE partners while delivering hands-on development of scalable cloud data systems.

You will evaluate technologies, build prototypes, and translate them into production-ready patterns across distributed architectures, with emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, another related field or its equivalent.
• Expertise in developing reusable infrastructure using Terraform modules, templates, and deployment patterns.
• Ability to develop scripts and automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with in-memory and key-value technologies like Redis and Valkey.
• Understanding of distributed data systems designed for horizontal scalability and high availability.

Responsabilités

• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available cloud and data architectures.
• Evaluate cloud technologies and determine suitability for new platform capabilities and services.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for database architectures including PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Design highly available, replicated, clustered, and geographically distributed database architectures.
• Build prototypes, proof of concepts, and reference implementations to validate scalability and security.
• Convert successful prototypes into repeatable architecture patterns and production-ready designs.
