Job summary

Verisk Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Software Architect to drive the cloud‑native architecture of SaaS products on AWS.

You will own end‑to‑end designs, guide microservices and serverless patterns, and coordinate across product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure software for the insurance market. The role requires deep experience with .NET/C#, TypeScript, Angular/React, and modern API design, along with IaC practices and proven leadership in AWS environments.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience with architecture/leadership in AWS‑based product environments.
• Experience delivering cloud‑native SaaS platforms or multi‑tenant applications.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of .NET/C# and modern front‑end tools (TypeScript/Angular/React).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven design.
• Practical AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS).
• Experience with Docker and IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of secure software design, automated delivery, monitoring, and production support.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs to engineers and leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture for assigned products and translate strategy into technical roadmaps.
• Design end-to-end cloud applications across UI, services, APIs, and data access.
• Create reusable architecture patterns and engineering standards.
• Shape modular services and bounded contexts for product evolution.
• Guide microservices, serverless components, and event‑driven solutions on AWS.
• Define secure, scalable API strategies for internal and external users.
• Provide architectural direction for modern web apps (.NET, C#, TypeScript/Angular/React).
• Ensure non‑functional requirements like availability, performance, and security are baked in.
• Lead architecture reviews and proofs of concept with clear trade-offs.
• Coach engineers and leads while staying close to implementation to mitigate risks.
