Job summary

Global Payments seeks a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and automate cloud infrastructure across business platforms. You will work on AWS, Azure, and hybrid solutions, while mentoring teammates and driving efficiency in provisioning, security, and operations.

You will engage with project managers, product teams, and applications teams to deliver scalable, compliant infrastructure, with a focus on stability and availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments.
• 5-7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience.
• Experience with enterprise repositories, namely GitHub Enterprise, deployment management and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Harness).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server, with scripted/automated admin experience.
• Knowledge of AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Group Policy; virtualization (VMware ESXi, vCenter, VDIs).
• Experience with automation orchestration across life cycle environments; configuration management principles.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement cloud infrastructure designs in AWS, Azure, and hybrid setups.
• Support automated provisioning, hardening, and firewall rules; leverage PaaS offerings.
• Co-own engineering efforts across multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain installation/config procedures; drive automation for these areas.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge on leveraged tools to reduce single points of failure.
• Develop and uphold technical policies and procedures; keep operational teams informed.
