Job summary

Netsmart seeks a Lead Software Architect, Cloud & AI Modernization to guide architecture for Post-Acute healthcare tech initiatives. This role is onsite in Overland Park, KS, with relocation or residence in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will lead architecture strategy, work hands-on with engineering teams, and modernize legacy apps using AWS, microservices, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and AI-enabled capabilities while aligning with regulatory and production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; onsite in Overland Park, KS.
• Strong software engineering background with architecture leadership.
• Experience modernizing enterprise apps in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, infra-as-code, event-driven systems, DevOps.
• Ability to translate client needs into technical architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and technical design for Post-Acute applications and platforms.
• Work hands-on with engineering teams to evaluate current-state architecture and guide modernization.
• Support legacy application modernization through modular architecture, API design, service decomposition, cloud migration patterns.
• Partner with DevOps, Hosting, Cloud, Security, Product, UX, and engineering leaders to align architecture decisions.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and reusable patterns.
• Guide engineering teams on AWS architecture, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability, security, and performance.
• Identify opportunities to responsibly integrate AI, automation, analytics, or data-driven features.
• Translate complex tradeoffs into clear recommendations for business and technology leaders.
• Help teams balance modernization goals with client commitments and regulatory expectations.
