Western Union is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud-native applications on AWS. You will own end-to-end full-stack solutions, from architecture to production operations, partnering with globally distributed teams to deliver scalable, secure software.

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of web frontend using TypeScript, React, Next.js.
• 3+ years Python backend development.
• 5+ years REST/GraphQL API design and implementation.
• 5+ years cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• 3+ years Infrastructure-as-Code, AWS CDK.
• 5+ years microservices in production.
• 3+ years event-driven architectures with messaging/streaming.
• 3+ years real-time capabilities (WebSockets/SSE/subscriptions).
• 3+ years CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• 5+ years applying software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems concepts.
• 3+ years Agile with TDD/CI/CD practices.
• 3+ years production systems observability and reliability.
• 1+ years AI/ML capabilities for enterprise apps.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack apps using React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, and Java.
• Lead architecture and implementation of scalable cloud-native solutions across distributed systems.
• Build AI-enabled product capabilities using Bedrock, RAG, and vector search.
• Develop backend services with appropriate technologies for performance and maintainability.
• Design and implement REST and GraphQL APIs with clear service contracts.
• Enable real-time features with WebSockets, SSE, and AppSync subscriptions.
• Architect and operate AWS infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Ensure security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and production support.
• Review designs and provide architectural oversight across teams.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
