Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking an Advanced Clinical Technician to provide designated direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians. You will act as a clinical resource, applying critical thinking to support safe unit operations and assist with onboarding and skill development of team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 1 year acute care experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and interprofessional patient care.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks with scope and advanced skills.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Perform designated direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Expand clinical skills per training and department needs.
• Apply critical thinking to changes in patient condition and escalate when needed.
• Support patient safety by following protocols and identifying risks.
• Assist with care coordination and patient throughput.
• Maintain certifications and competencies, pursue ongoing skill development.
• Mentor new staff without supervisory duties.
• Prepare supplies and equipment to ensure ready clinical environment.
