Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Montgomery County, PA seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Trauma Center, PT-Day shift, to support the clinical team and telehealth connections. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed supervision, promote safety, manage supplies, and assist with virtual examinations using Epic/Vidyo when required.

Required are a High School Diploma/GED, knowledge of medical terminology, teamwork, and BLS certification at hire or on onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to work within an interprofessional team.
• Understanding of patient safety and infection control.
• BLS certification required on hire or within onboarding period.
• LVHN
• Upon Hire BLS qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment and promotes safety.
• Assists with supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Performs patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights.
• Supports telehealth encounters when needed with distant providers.
