Job summary

GSK is seeking a Principal Programmer Analyst to join our Clinical Programming team. You will lead study delivery in an agile, squad-based environment, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional groups across clinical, statistical, and operational teams to bridge scientific requirements with technical solutions.

You will ensure high-quality outputs, contribute to regulatory interactions, and help drive the adoption of governance and best practices across the programming function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Five+ years of programming experience with at least one language and ability to select appropriate tools for tasks.
• Three+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with understanding of clinical trials and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead programming activities for one or more studies, ensuring development, maintenance, and validation of complex analysis packages
• Foster quality assurance by adhering to Good Programming Practices and CDISC
• Mentor junior programmers with guidance on technical tasks and best practices
• Lead programming support for regulatory interactions (e.g., EMA, FDA)
• Identify gaps and implement innovative solutions aligned with standards
• Establish governance frameworks and manage risk with timely escalation
