Job summary

Garfield Counseling Center Inc. is seeking a Deputy Director to lead daily clinical and program operations for an OTP and outpatient services on Chicago’s West Side. The role requires extensive MOUD/MAT experience, regulatory knowledge, and strong supervision and grant management skills.

Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure high-quality, evidence-based care, regulatory compliance, and successful grant performance, while guiding a senior clinical team in a fast-paced, in-person setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of direct clinical practice in substance use or behavioral health.
• At least three years in MOUD/MAT settings.
• At least two years in clinical supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Knowledge of 42 CFR Part 8, 42 CFR Part 2, 77 Ill. Adm. Code Part 2060, and HIPAA.
• Grant management experience including budgeting and reporting.
• Proficient in budgeting, finances, and EHRs.
• Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership of OTP and outpatient services.
• Supervise counselors, case managers, and support staff; ensure credentialing.
• Review clinical documentation for quality and medical necessity.
• Staff complex cases and support crisis response and overdose prevention.
• Ensure trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally responsive care.
• Oversee grant tracking, reporting, and programs across funds.
• Maintain compliance with federal/state regulations and accreditation.
