Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist to supervise the Reentry Nursing Program. This statewide role oversees nursing components of the Medicaid Transformation Project Reentry Waiver and coordinates care from pre-release to community linkage.

The position emphasizes standards of care, protocol development, and education for nursing staff, with shared supervision across facilities and collaboration with Health Services leadership.

Qualifications

• Current WA RN license or multi-state license with MLS.
• At least 5 years acute clinical RN experience, with 3 years in a management role.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide clinical oversight and nursing leadership for the reentry program.
• Develop and implement nursing workflows, policies, and education.
• Coordinate care transitions for individuals during the 90-day pre-release period.
• Monitor program compliance and quality improvement across facilities.
