Job summary

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center, a nonprofit community corrections worksite, seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee health services for residents and supervise health-related activities across campuses and offsite locations.

Responsibilities include health assessments, care planning, education, and coordination with external health providers. The role emphasizes preventive care, case management, and compliance with federal and state health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Three years’ direct patient care experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and maintain professional relationships.
• Maintain positive relationships with local, state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in screening new residents for health issues to determine admission suitability.
• Communicate with health care professionals about medical status; liaise with Montana DOC Health Services.
• Coordinate with health care providers to plan and evaluate care plans; refer residents to resources.
• Provide periodic health education to residents and staff on risk and disease topics.
• Direct infection control programs and serve as health issue contact for infectious diseases.
• Prepare reports for community health departments, physicians or DOC contacts.
• Identify inappropriate medication use and review prescriptions with staff.
• Assist residents with discharge planning and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid trainer certifications and ensure staff training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
