SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Clinical Lab Technologist 3, Microbiology to join the Department of Clinical Laboratories. This full-time role performs microbiology and virology procedures and uses routine instrumentation in a diverse metropolitan medical center.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Sciences.
New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.
Preferred: ASCP certification.
Prior Microbiology work experience.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations in the Microbiology and Virology Laboratories.
Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Microbiology and Virology; specific familiarization with variant equipment.
Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Microbiology and Virology methodologies and instrumentation.
Demonstrate flexibility as duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
