Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures.
• Follows policies for methodologies and instrument operations and reporting results.
• Performs quality control, instrument maintenance, and calibration.
• Troubleshoots and validates control values and instrument checks.
• Reviews patient results before release to EMR and correlates with history/previous values.
• Communicates critical values to medical staff per protocol and documents actions.
• Completes proficiency and competency assessments.
• Maintains testing supplies and assists with logs and PSI entries.
• Participates in training of new technologists/residents.
