Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Clinical Informatics professional to support the CIS lifecycle, focusing on design, usability, and end-user satisfaction. You will collaborate with HSIS, Ancillary Services, and the Health System to improve patient care outcomes through effective information systems.

The role emphasizes CI knowledge, change management, and performance improvement, with responsibilities spanning training, communication, and evaluation of CIS implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a health care related field is required and five (5) years of related experience; work experience may not substitute for education.
• Current Alabama healthcare licensure (RN, Radiology, etc.) is required.
• Certification in related healthcare field (Quality, Informatics, Patient Safety) within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Clinical Informatics design and support consultant in the lifecycle of CIS solutions, planning, problem solving, and risk mitigation.
• Champion CIS adoption efforts, engage in change management, and participate in cross-functional teams.
• Facilitate data integrity and end-user workflow improvements; analyze data and ensure documentation compliance.
• Contribute to testing, training, and end-user support for clinical information systems upgrades and downtime events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a health care related field

Current State of Alabama licensure commensurate with healthcare degree

Attainment of certification in related healthcare field within 2 years of hire
