Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. seeks a Staff Clinical Applications Engineer to lead end-to-end training for emerging robotic platforms.

You will design curricula, deliver hands-on workshops, and ensure clinicians achieve independent proficiency while translating complex robotic concepts into practical practice. You will collaborate with R&D, marketing, and medical affairs to evolve training as products advance, while mentoring junior educators and expanding education programs globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a clinical, scientific, or engineering discipline, or PA/nursing; advanced degrees a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical training or medical education within medical devices or healthcare tech.
• Proven track record designing and executing physician training programs (curriculum, labs, digital).
• Demonstrated ability to engage with KOLs and physician faculty to drive procedure adoption.
• Strong procedural knowledge in minimally invasive techniques; translate complex concepts to practical training.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, sales, and medical affairs.
• Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and adult learning skills; able to train novices to experts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive training curricula (workshops, labs, digital modules) for physicians, staff, and stakeholders.
• Provide advanced clinical and technical guidance during procedures for safe system use.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, medical affairs, and commercial teams to align training with product capabilities.
• Mentor CAEs and trainers in adult learning and curriculum development; scale education globally.
