Job summary

BCBSRI is seeking a senior integration leader to drive end-to-end technical data exchanges across core administration, clinical systems, and external partners. You will lead FHIR-based integrations, API design, and data pipelines, ensuring secure, compliant interoperability across platforms.

You will work with Azure, Snowflake, and API gateways, mentor engineers, and coordinate with Product, Security, and Operations to deliver reliable health IT solutions.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in systems integration, software engineering, or data integration, with 3–5 years in healthcare interoperability.
• Hands-on experience implementing HL7/FHIR APIs in payer/provider environments.
• Strong knowledge of REST, JSON/XML, and healthcare messaging patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure, scalable integrations across core admin, utilization management, clinical data, and partner platforms.
• Define reusable integration patterns for APIs, batch, messaging, and event-driven solutions.
• Lead FHIR R4 solutions for Patient Access, Provider Directory, Payer-to-Payer exchange, and electronic Prior Authorization.
• Direct ingestion, transformation, mapping, validation, and reconciliation of clinical data from EHRs, HIEs, and labs.
• Design and optimize cloud-based APIs and data pipelines across Azure, Snowflake, Apigee, with CI/CD.
• Manage vendor integrations, onboarding, testing, production readiness, and risk resolution.
• Establish testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-management standards; lead root-cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation and coordinate with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
