Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island seeks a senior technical integration leader to drive end-to-end interoperability across core administration systems, clinical data sources, and external partners. You will guide FHIR-based integrations, API design, data pipelines, and cloud‑first architectures supporting Patient Access and other critical workflows.

Required is 7+ years in integration with 3–5 years in healthcare, plus hands-on FHIR, HL7, and cloud tech.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in systems integration or interoperability engineering, with 3–5 years in healthcare interoperability.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with FHIR APIs and healthcare data standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical integration of core systems, interoperability platforms, and clinical data sources.
• Define reusable patterns for APIs, batch processing, messaging, and event-driven workflows.
• Direct ingestion, transformation, and validation of data from EHRs, HIEs, and labs.
• Design and optimize cloud-based APIs and data pipelines across Azure and Snowflake.
• Oversee vendor connections, testing, production readiness, and risk management.
• Maintain documentation and provide technical direction across teams.
