Qualifications

• Certified professional coder (CPC) or CCS-P.
• 2 years coding experience required; 5 years in multiple specialties preferred.
• Deep knowledge of HCPCS, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Ability to read/analyze medical records, billing statements and lab reports.
• Strong communication with physicians and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate documentation into coded form, applying CPT/ICD-10 guidelines.
• Review patient reports to apply ICD and CPT codes for billing and reporting.
• Assign appropriate ICD diagnosis and CPT procedures in Epic.
• Audit E/M coding to ensure correct level selection.
• Educate providers on CMS regulations, coding, and documentation.
• Monitor denials and compliance issues to maximize reimbursement.
• Identify opportunities to improve coding workflow and accuracy.
• Collaborate with facility coders to resolve discrepancies.
