Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Coder III for remote coding across inpatient, outpatient, and other records. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes, perform data abstraction, and support accurate billing and reporting.

The role requires CCS credential and experience in acute care coding. Ambulatory, emergency, and ancillary coding duties may be included, with opportunities to mentor junior coders.

Qualifications

• CCS credential required.
• College Degree in Health Information Management, AHIMA Approved Certificate Program, or 1 year coding experience in acute care.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Technology preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, emergency, and other records per ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT.
• Abstract data and support accurate billing and reporting.
• Follow UHDDS, CMS regulations, and official coding guidelines.
• Mentor junior coders and assist with training.
