Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have CPC or CCS-P certification.
• Minimum 2 years coding experience required.
• 5+ years experience in multiple specialties preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM coding and E/M guidelines.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate providers' documentation into coded form for ICD and CPT codes for billing and reporting.
• Review patient reports to assign ICD and CPT codes for billing and reporting.
• Audit E/M coding to ensure proper level selection.
• Educate providers on CMS regulations, coding, and documentation.
• Identify workflow improvements and discuss discrepancies with coders.
• Manage provider workload in Epic coding workflow.
• Analyze denial trends and ensure compliance with payors.
• Maintain knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM coding.
• Communicate with providers to ensure accurate reflection of care.
