Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Certified Clinical Coder with a Program Specialist V role to lead complex Medicaid billing and coding policy work. You will analyze ICD, CPT, HCPCS changes, advise on policy updates, and collaborate with HHSC teams and other agencies to ensure accurate Medicaid materials.

The position focuses on writing, research, and policy development, with telework eligibility and regular full-time hours in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical billing and coding is required.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to analyze policies.
• Knowledge of Medicaid/CHIP regulations and billing practices.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and synthesize Medicaid medical benefit policy and coding changes.
• Lead or participate in policy development and reviews with stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance on clinical coding and billing.
• Participate in public meetings/workgroups and present complex information.
• Develop memos and briefs for HHSC executive leadership.
