Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Application Systems Analyst supports IT EMR Services. Acts independently under general supervision, requiring minimal instruction and guidance. Supports system applications, primarily Epic ClinDoc and CPOE.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT or related field plus three (3) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, Bachelor's degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT or related field plus five (5) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two - OR - Associates degree in Clinical, Healthcare, Business, IT or related field plus seven (7) years of experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two - OR - High School diploma plus nine (9) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In accordance with IT Epic Certification Policy, must be certified in the following applications or obtain certification within 12 months.
  • Epic ClinDoc and Epic CPOE.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree preferred.
  • IT experience plus Clinical or Operational experience.


Additional Information:

  • Demonstrates high level of proficiency and expertise on software functionality and integration. Responsible for building system components, testing, implementation support and maintenance of assigned system applications.
  • Performs in-depth analysis, trouble shooting, data collection, and root cause analysis and then identifies and/or implements potential solutions for issues related to the system or usage of it.
  • Analyzes/reviews and tests each product release and communicates needed changes to operations.
  • Must be able to document and follow system change control procedures for the system.
  • Works closely with other analysts, software vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs.
  • Researches, analyzes, facilitates and implements business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices.
  • Identifies best practices and implements opportunities for standardization.
  • Prepares activity and other reports as necessary.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior analysts.
  • Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
  • Provides On-Call support for application.
