Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Sr. Clinical Product Lead for Optum Health’s AI Office. You will shape AI-enabled product strategy, ensure clinical safety, and drive adoption across markets.

The role emphasizes partnering with care teams, enterprise governance, and cross-functional leadership to deliver patient-centered AI solutions. You will work remotely within the U.S. and influence product direction at the enterprise level while collaborating with local market teams to align clinical outcomes

Qualifications

• Licensed clinician (MD, DO, NP, PA, or RN) with patient care experience.
• 5+ years working on clinical product, clinical informatics, or health tech with product/engineering teams.
• Experience in healthcare industry and/or large, complex organizations.
• Experience using AI tools in practice and building with them (agent, automation, or LLM).
• Experience defining clinical requirements or safety criteria and launching them.
• Ability to operate at enterprise and market levels and distinguish decisions.
• Strong technical writing skills; decisions and findings documented.
• Proven ability to build relationships across levels and lead without direct authority.
• Experience with GitHub and AI coding/agent tools.

Responsibilities

• Work as a design partner on every build from problem definition to launch.
• Recruit care team members from local markets and integrate their clinical judgment.
• Translate clinical workflows into build-ready requirements.
• Determine enterprise vs market ownership of decisions and design accordingly.
• Define, measure, and ensure clinical safety and usefulness of AI features.
• Review models and agent behavior with care teams before shipping.
• Collaborate with tech, data, security, legal, privacy, and governance teams.
• Lead clinical adoption through deployment readiness and training.
• Document weekly learnings to guide decisions.
