Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of medical terminology class.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all clinic appointments in EPIC for new referrals and return visits via basket, telephone, fax or email.
• Maintains all clinic schedules once submitted.
• Checks in patients upon arrival, assembles paperwork for new patients, notifies therapist.
• Answers and direct internal and external phone calls verifying demographics, guarantor, insurance and financial data required for billing.
• Orders office supplies, as approved by Office Manager.
• Manage patients check in (billhold) with accuracy and within established department timeframes.
• Demonstrates flexibility to support onsite or any satellite clinic hours.
• Obtains authorization for treatment from managed care organizations and/or explains self-pay options to patients.
• Directs patients to Outpatient Services staff as necessary.
• Utilizes a wide variety of computer systems effectively.
• Handles confidential information consistent with HIPAA and related regulations.
• Follows AIDET with all customers and assists in resolving complaints.
• Performs other duties assigned.
